Senior Fullstack Engineer

<div>Contract Type: Freelance / Remote (compatible with UK time-zone)</div><div>Timeline: Start ASAP | MVP live by mid-September</div><div>Duration: ~1-2 months initial build, with potential for ongoing work</div><div><br></div><div>Compensation: Competitive / Based on experience</div><div>We’re looking for an experienced freelance Senior Fullstack Engineer to help build a modern web application from scratch, working closely with our data scientist. This is a fast-paced project aiming to launch a functional MVP by mid-September, with a roadmap for iterative feature releases.</div><div><br></div><div>The Project:</div><div>Oko Ag is an early stage agri-tech startup simplifying agricultural funding for farmers and advisors in the UK. You’ll build our MVP — a directory of UK agricultural funding — helping users discover, search, and manage relevant funding opportunities.</div><div><br></div><div>Key Requirements:</div><div>- Build the full tech stack from scratch</div><div>- Collaborate with data scientist on backend/data architecture (data schema in progress)</div><div>- Design and implement a responsive, user-friendly frontend (for desktop, mobile, iPad)</div><div>- Deliver a robust MVP - funding directory, search/filter, user accounts, and admin CMS</div><div><br></div><div>What Needs to Be Built:</div><div>- Clean, responsive frontend UI</div><div>- Funding directory interface (using our database)</div><div>- Basic search, filtering, sorting (for MVP)</div><div>- Geo-spatial search (PostGIS integration — post-MVP)</div><div>- User accounts and saved items</div><div>- Admin CMS for managing funding entries</div><div>- Payment gateway integration</div><div><br></div><div>Preferred Tech:</div><div>Open to suggestions, but prefer a Python-based stack with PostGIS (or geospatial query support). Use of third-party tooling and frameworks encouraged to accelerate development.</div><div><br></div><div>You Should Have:</div><div>- Proven experience as a fullstack engineer</div><div>- Able to work independently with speed and attention to quality (“hacker” mindset)</div><div>- Experience building and launching production-ready web apps solo</div><div>- Experience with geospatial data a plus</div><div><br></div><div>Interested?
